lovely little saturday

i had the best day with my boo!
we woke up around 9 & decided to go have breakfast and with the weather as amazing as it is here in texas right now, i opted for a crisp white ribbed tank tucked into an easy, breezy navy blue maxi skirt & my new nude sandals. i also wanted to debut this amazing necklace i scored at a jewelry swap my girlfriends from work & i had a few weeks back. it’s from my friend marissa, who used to live in bahrain. it’s real silver and actually has some weight to it, but it’s so unique and gorgeous in person that i know i will wear it often! also, please don’t mind my roots, im not sure if i’m loving my natural lazy ombre look or if i want to get some more blonde highlights…

we decided to try a new-to-us place called “southern recipe cafe,” & while we were turned off by the out-of-dateness of the place, the food was actually amazing & delicious and we will definitely be going back! i had the breakfast quesadillas with egg, sausage, chives and cheese and a side of hash browns, while dek enjoyed the veggie omelet with seasoned potatoes. we both wanted a taste of something sweet, so we also ordered a short stack of pancakes with warmed syrup to share 🙂
after stuffing ourselves silly, we decided to work on organizing the sour melan craft room at my mom’s house. she has a few spare rooms in her home & she’s letting me make one of them into an arts & crafts room for our small business. before, we were keeping all of our stuff in here, like flowers, materials, products, labels, boxes, etc..but all in a jumbled, messy way. i never knew where anything was or how much or a certain thing we had because everything was everywhere and not organized. so today dek & i took everything out of the room, cleaned it & totally reorganized, putting to use some storage bins we bought from walmart and even hooking up a desktop so mirelle & i can catch up on our shows while working! i hung all of our earrings from a photo holder & dek put these hooks up for me so i could drape my necklaces all along the wall as well. i love the final look & feel to the room. it’s a very small room, so placement was key but with the reorganization and the storage, it feels more spacious than before and i am so relieved that everything has a place and that alike items are now grouped together. whew to that project!
here are some photos our progress:
