in the spirit of st.patricks day coming up and the fact that there will be a massive parade on lower greenville ave i wanted to share some photos of a brunch outing dek & i had at halcyon a few weekends back, it doesn’t hurt that i was wearing green here either 😉
we had been to the cafe brazil that had been on this corner of greenville & goodwin before but were intrigued by this new place…even the name was hard to decipher! turns out it’s a coffee shop, brunch spot, and cocktail lounge all in one and has been open for about a year, according to the dallas observer. the vibe is modern and retro with exposed brick and lots of light shining through the massive windows. we sat at the bar facing the street to people watch & the food really was tasty. we had a great time in the cool setting, it felt hustle-bustle with neighborhood people coming in & out to pick up takeout orders, families coming in with kiddos, couples, etc. – we would definitely go back & next time when it’s warmer out so we can enjoy the patio!
we were there early enough that greenville was pretty empty (check out the 2nd photo below) so we took advantage & i got a few #ootd shots. this sweater is oversized, slouchy & super comfortable, it’s from a brand called kaisely and i borrowed it from my sister, my ripped distressed jeans are from a marshall’s shopping trip when i was in vegas with my mom & sister last year for my best friend’s birthday, last seen here & i kept the look very casual with some white sneakers from target.
pulp-free red grapefruit juice for me, extra hot cafe latte for him
i had the fried egg sandwich with avocado & breakfast campfire potatoes
dek tried the santa fe egg skillet
