this past weekend our family got together to celebrate my sister, mirelle’s, birthday at ferris wheeler’s bbq + backyard which is a new-to-us place. we looooove good bbq, proof here, so we ventured to the other side of town to try this place out and it did not disappoint! their one-page menu is simple and to-the-point and their food was delish. we started with brisket queso and waffle fries and then, of course, ordered the brisket and tried the pulled pork & turkey which was all so tasty (keep scrolling down for food pics). we were there right at noon and felt like we had the whole place to ourselves as it didn’t start getting busy until around 1:30 or so. they were starting to set up for live music and said the ferris wheel actually starts working later in the day so we didn’t get to ride it (not that i would have anyway) but we loved sitting on a picnic table under the shade of an umbrella sipping the cucumber water they had on tap. it was such a fun lunch! i wore a colorful, loose dress that i just got from buffalo exchange for a cool $14.50. since it’s so flowy it seems like it will last me through pregnancy and even after. i usually love belting such a loose dress but i thought this one looked cute left alone, worn with simple sandals and long earrings that peeked through my short new locks.
brisket queso: melted cheese, fresh pico de gallo & chopped bricket with chips + we ordered their seasoned waffle fries
an order of lean brisket (which was still very moist!) with a side of fries and pickles
