today is my official due date for this baby boy of ours & i am feeling NO signs of labor or readiness from him. (you can find previous bumpdates here to see my belly progression!) i will get a slight cramp & think to myself “is this a contraction” or feel something and be like “was that my water breaking” ….but, no. nothin. nada. he sure does seem comfortable & cozy in there and it might be days or another whole week before he decides to descend down the birth canal! it’s funny that as awkward, large & uncomfortable as i feel, i’ve gotten more compliments from strangers than ever throughout this whole pregnancy and it puts a smile on my face. i will be out and people will tell me i “look adorable” or compliment what i’m wearing and it’s so nice to hear! i’m really so swollen, puffy and heavy, but we are so ready to meet this little guy its nuts. i’m just working from home at this point, trying to keep my feet elevated and my spirits high and not think about how/when labor will happen and go with the flow. we have our 40-week doc appointment tomorrow where they will do an ultrasound to see his size & let me know if they think it’s the right time to induce me, so i’ll keep you posted!
these photos are from our family lunch outing yesterday. we went to maggiano’s at northpark & it was delightful to enjoy pasta with some of my favorite peeps and then indulge in 2 slices of my favorite birthday cake of all time that my mom brought for us to have there, which is baskin robins snickers ice cream cake – yum! right after lunch dekel surprised me & took me to the apple store to upgrade my phone to the new iphone x, which i am LOVING! we had been on the fence about when to upgrade and to which phone, but with baby coming he knew i would want to do it sooner than later so we bit the bullet and went for it. it was such a sweet gesture, so thankful for him and for everyone who helped make my last birthday sans baby a special one. i really felt all the love!
