at the end of july, we planned a little family maternity photoshoot at white rock lake with our photographer friend amy. she has shot for us before- see our previous maternity photoshoot here & atlas’s 2-week-old photoshoot here. i knew i would want these photos to treasure forever! she helped us scope out the perfect location, made us all feel comfortable & kept the whole experience enjoyable…it really helped that it wasn’t sweltering outside yet since we shot so early at 7 am! shooting with a toddler proved to be a go-with-the-flow kinda thing, he definitely didn’t want to smile on command, but i brought a little sucker & some snacks that i would bribe him with in between photos and location changes. he also loved seeing the boats, bikes & ducks around the lake, not to mention wave “hi” to the joggers & stop to pet the dogs.
i wanted this shoot to have a moody, bohemian vibe. the sky was overcast so gave such a cool effect. i opted for this dress that was overly embellished & beaded to really stand out in nature. here is the pinterest board i created to gather inspo for the shoot & i just love how our photos turned out!
